SERVICES
What we offer
We work primarily with adolescents and adults. Our approach is grounded in psychodynamic theories and we work to establish a therapeutic relationship that is unique to you, your needs, and your story, which may include integrating aspects of other modalities and methods. We will help you identify: (1) problem areas and patterns that are causing distress, (2) the source(s) of these issues, and (3) ways to enact change. Depending upon your individual characteristics, life experiences, history, cultural background, and other important factors, difficulties can present themselves in numerous ways and color how we experience ourselves, our environment, and our relationships. Furthermore, external circumstances, often beyond our control, can cause or contribute to our struggles and it is important that we have appropriate and effective coping strategies to manage these. In psychotherapy, we develop an understanding of your individual 'story' through a collaborative relationship and help you to know yourself better so that you can ask the right questions and enter the process of change. We hold our own answers and sometimes we just need help to locate them.

Group Therapy
We conduct comprehensive evaluations through a reflective, relational, and integrative lens for children, adolescents, and adults. People typically reach out for an evaluation because of questions related to potential emotional, personality, cognitive, learning and/or attentional issues interfering with functioning. This is all very important and we will certainly provide diagnostic clarification and an understanding of areas of functioning that are proving to be more challenging or problematic. At the same time, we operate from a strength-based approach and we believe it is equally important to gain a more comprehensive understanding of areas of strength. We, as humans, do not only function from a place of deficit and challenge. We believe that all people are on a spectrum representing different profiles of strengths and weaknesses–we all have both. We believe it is important to take a holistic approach to gain the most comprehensive understanding of functioning.
What the Testing Process Includes:
An intake session lasting approximately 60 minutes. If the examinee is a minor, the intake is conducted with caregivers. This session will take place via video call using our secure telehealth platform.
A classroom observation, if indicated. This should be scheduled before the testing administration begins, before the child/adolescent meets the examiner, to make it less likely that they will be distracted or impacted by the presence of the examiner.
In-person testing sessions. Testing administration typically takes between 6-10 hours. This will normally be broken down into 2-3 testing sessions. It is recommended that testing take place in the earlier hours of the day when the examinee is well-rested and more alert. If the examinee is school-aged, this usually means that they will miss some school hours.
Consultation with pertinent professionals, if indicated. This may include psychotherapists, psychiatrists, teachers, pediatricians/primary care physicians, tutors, occupational therapists, etc.
Feedback session to review data and the findings:
A 60-minute video call
If the examinee is a minor, the primary feedback session will be with caregivers.
A separate, developmentally-appropriate, feedback session is scheduled with the minor so they can learn about their strengths and weaknesses.
Feedback with treatment team or educators, if indicated.
A comprehensive, detailed report which includes history, testing data, interpretation, diagnoses, and professional, academic, and home/community recommendations.
On average, the entire testing process takes 4-6 weeks.
